She is great at making you feel comfortable, especially if you have not seen a psychiatrist before. She remembers what's going on in your life and makes an effort to follow up. I also like that she wants you to be an active part in your own care, so she takes into strong consideration your feedback, symptoms and hesitation with any prescriptions. She also wants to think about your life holistically, rather than prescribing more than you need to easily "fix the problem." Dr. Blaisdell is an empathetic, open, and honest Psychiatrist. She has ignited a desire in me to focus on getting healthy and strong; mentally, physically, and spiritually. Although it is stressful to unearth repressed emotions that are making me sick, I know it is a necessary part of the healing process. Dr. Blaisdell will work closely with you to determine the underlying root causes of what you are struggling with. I praise God for Dr. Blaisdell. Dr. Blaisdell-Brennan helped me with my personal issues and encouraged me to improve myself. She gave very good recommendations (and was brave enough to disagree with me), made generous accommodations for me, and demonstrated a lot of patience and understanding when I was having issues with my health insurance. I also applaud her advocacy for Native Hawaiian health as she advocated for Native Hawaiians to protect themselves from the COVID-19 virus, and her late father was a renowned Native Hawaiian doctor. Sessions with Dr. Blaisdell-Brennan have been incredibly helpful through some roadblocks and tougher times in life. It was important for me that my therapist has a strong cultural understanding and background of growing up in Hawaii. I've had mainland therapists prior that lacked connection and cultural insight. Dr. Blaisdell has really great introspect and rationale, I've really appreciated her guidance in my life.
